Weekend in Pictures - Baltimore Inner Harbor

To celebrate of my "xxth" birthday this month, take a break from the rigorous demands of course work and retreat from the stress of my 9-5 I was gifted with a road trip to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The harbor area is one of the regentrified and safer areas of Baltimore. Geared at tourist, sports fans and young professionals the area offers a variety of activities and restaurants that echo the fresh, new spirit of a city that has seen it's share of rough times. 

The highlights of the trip: Rachael's Dowry, and the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Check out the pics after the jump...




STAY 

I had the immense pleasure of staying at Rachael's Dowry. A fully restored,Victorian style, Bed and Breakfast, located near Baltimore's inner harbor. It's just off the beaten path and somewhat lesser known than area mega, brand corporate hotels which only adds to it's sweet, romantic charm.

The owners, Trish and Norm, are the gracious brother and sister team who manage the property. Personal touch is why people opt to stay at B&B's. Trish, who was also the chef and "concierge," was a welcoming, informative and a delightful host.

The property is very well maintained and the rooms were immaculate. Don't be fooled by the "Victorian Style" architectural description fool you. This property has the modern ammenities like WIFI, and central air you'd find at any of the chain hotels. Cookies and muffins baked fresh daily are an added bonus that give guests the "Home away from home" vibe.

• Baltimore Museum of Art - The Andy Warhol exhibit showcasing rarely exhibited  work from 1976-1987, offers a deeper look into later work by the artist. 

• American Visionary Art Museum - Home of fantastic art, and named "Best Museum of Baltimore" 2010. This is one of the wildest museum exhibits I've ever seen. On display here are works by self-taught artist from around the world who are inspired by personal vision.
